American R & B singer Miguel and Reggae artiste Chronixx are set to headline International Night 2 of Reggae Sumfest at the Catherine Hall Sports Complex in Montego Bay.
Both are young talented artistes who have been doing excellent in their selected genres. Miguel’s hit single “Adorn” won this year’s Grammy Award for best R & B Song. This will be his first trip to Jamaica. Adorn which is a soulful rendition of Marvin Gaye’s classic, Sexual Healing topped the Billboard R&B/Hip Hop charts and is featured on Miguel’s sophomore album, Kaleidoscope Dream which was released last September.
The singer is no stranger to being associated with Jamaican music. In summer last year Konshens remixed his single “Adorn.” In a release to the media Sumfest organizers said: “Sumfest patrons can expect to be wowed by the young artiste’s striking vocals and alluring stage presence, while rocking to the sounds of his eclectic LPs.”
In the meantime the other headliner for International Night 2, Jamaican reggae star Chronixx, will perform on the final night. His appearance will mark his second major stage show performance on the island. Chronixx is best known for hits such as “Warrior,” “Behind Curtain” and “They Don’t Know.”
Other top acts to be on stage on the closing night of Sumfest include last year’s top performer Damian ‘Jr. Gong’ Marley, alongside Popcaan, Aidonia and Kipprich. Reggae Sumfest is now celebrating 21 years. The shows will take place from July 21-27.
